Description

The high-temperature wire uses a thermoset silicone insulation material that's suitable for use to 150 degrees Celsius and 25KVDC. The silicone rubber insulation used on AWC UL 3239 wires has a maximum temperature rating of 150°C. The insulation strips easily but does not shrink or burn during soldering. The insulation has high dielectric strength and its thickness varies depending on the rated wire voltage. It is resistant to abrasion and deformation. Applications for UL 3239 wire include direct current (DC) high-voltage electronics and appliances together with high-temperature applications. Examples include cathode ray tubes used in older TV receivers, photomultiplier tubes, image intensifiers, signs, lighting fixtures, and X-ray equipment. Other applications include ignition systems, electrostatic precipitators as well as high-temperature applications including motors, furnaces, heaters, and dryers.
