Illustrated throughout with black-and-white plates. Some slight rubbing and wear, a few scuffs, some minor discoloration and foxing, else in very good condition. The Franco-Prussian War: Its Causes, Incidents, and Consequences, edited by Captain H. M. Hozier and published in London by William Mackenzie in 1872–1873, is a substantial two-volume history of the conflict that reshaped nineteenth-century Europe. Originally issued in parts shortly after the war and later bound into two volumes, it is richly illustrated with engravings, maps, and battle plans.
